Day 1: First Encounter with the Grassland

A Mongolian welcome ceremony meets you at Hailar airport, then it is straight to Muyun Shanding, a top-luxury lodge perched on the grassland’s highest point with a 360° “God’s-eye view” over the Morigele River, celebrated as the most beautiful winding river under heaven. A grassland hot pot opens the journey by its banks.

Day 2: Horseback Pride, Roast Lamb & Bonfire

The Wulan Mountain playground — grass slide, cableway, and the wildly popular grass-swing — fills the day with laughter. A horse-riding camp sets you at a gentle canter through valley meadows, before a roast-lamb feast by headcount (chops for two, a leg for four to six, a whole lamb with opening ceremony for eight or more) and a bonfire party of song and dance under the stars.

Day 3: Russian Charm & Nomadic Songs

At a Russian family workshop you knead and bake your own daleba bread and hand-paint Matryoshka dolls. Then all-terrain vehicles splash through shallow streams into the deep grassland, and a Mongolian herdsman’s home welcomes you to feed lambs, milk cows, ride the wooden lele cart, brew pot-tea and hear the nomads’ stories — all along the most beautiful border road to Wulan Mountain.

Day 4: The National Gate & a Fairy-Tale City

The border highway leads to Manzhouli, where you climb the Guomen observation tower for a panoramic China-Russia vista, wander streets of Russian-style charm, and surrender to the dazzling circus at Matryoshka Square. Two nights at the five-star Shangri-La Manzhouli restore you in cosmopolitan comfort.

Day 5: Hulun Lake & a Lakeside BBQ

Along the windmill road you cross Hulun Lake, its water deepening from light green to ocean blue and meeting the sky in an endless expanse. Lunch is a grassland lakeside barbecue with a delicate afternoon tea, savored in unhurried leisure between heaven and earth.

Day 6: The Horse Dance & a Reluctant Farewell

The Barag Mongolian tribe’s Horse Dance re-creates a thousand years of a horse-riding people’s valor and romance in one heart-stopping spectacle, before a private transfer to Hailar airport sends you home with a heart full of the grassland.
